JARRYD COLLIS - PGA TEACHING PROFESSIONAL
Jarryd, an advanced status PGA of Australia Teaching Professional with more than 15 years coaching experience, joined Curlewis in 2023 and has since been instrumental in helping thousands of golfers from The Bellarine and beyond to learn and improve within the game of golf.
Jarryd holds advanced status by the PGA of Australia in coaching and game development. He received top academic honours Australia-wide for each of the three years required to complete the PGA training. Jarryd believes this to be a recognition of his desire to be the best coach he can be, leaving no stone unturned to ensure his students receive the best advice possible at all levels – beginner, intermediate or elite.
Previously working at some of Australia’s best golfing destinations, including the world-class Sand belt region of Melbourne at Yarra Yarra Golf Club as well as the Barwon Heads Golf Club, Jarryd has also spent much of his time honing and developing his craft under some of the best coaches in the world, many of whom have players on some of the world’s biggest stages and tours.
Jarryd is a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) certified instructor, further enhancing his understanding of the function and movement patterns of each individual to help, identify and correct the golf swing and to also ensure each student remains injury and pain free. TPI is utilised by the best players in the world and is recognised by many as playing a major role in their coaching or playing success.
Jarryd currently leads many of the programs available at Curlewis including Women’s beginner, intermediate and pathway programs as well as All Abilities programs and junior golf academies.
Use of both TrackMan data and Capto putting technology is available during private lessons, with Jarryd currently coaching 6-days a week from Monday - Saturday.
MATTHEW McFARLANE – PGA TRAINEE PROFESSIONAL
Matthew McFarlane is an accomplished PGA Professional whose passion for golf and dedication to teaching have made him a valued member of the Curlewis Golf Club since 2017. With years of experience under his belt, he has cultivated a reputation for being not only knowledgeable about the intricacies of the game but also an engaging instructor who makes learning golf both enjoyable and accessible.
His journey into the world of golf began at the young age of 11 and quickly blossomed into a lifelong obsession. Matt thrives on sharing his love for the sport with others, believing that golf is not just a game but a means to connect people and create lasting memories. His approach to teaching is centered around fostering a positive and encouraging environment where players of all skill levels feel empowered to improve their game. Whether he is working with seasoned players or complete novices, he tailors his lessons to meet individual needs, ensuring everyone has the tools to succeed on the course.
At Curlewis Golf Club, Matt has been instrumental in developing various programs aimed at introducing newcomers to the game. His engaging personality and fun, dynamic teaching style resonate well with students, making even the most complex techniques seem manageable. He often says that the best part of his job is witnessing the joy and excitement on his students’ faces as they master new skills and progress in their golfing journey.

In his free time, Matthew enjoys playing golf himself, constantly seeking ways to improve his own game while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow players.

MATT BURLEY - PGA COACHING PROFESSIONAL
Matt has been a PGA Golf Professional for more than 27 years. Opportunities to live and work in various golf clubs around the world (most notably his 3-year tenure with American Golf Corporation at The Trophy Club of Atlanta U.S.A), has provided Matt with extensive experience in all aspects of the golfing environment.
Starting off the new millennium in Indonesia from 2001-2005, Matt was custom fitting clubs for both Titleist and Ping brands whilst excelling in teaching at Graha Famili Golf club in Surabaya.
With 5 years in America and 3 years in Yokosuka Japan playing and coaching in different venues, Matt's experience working in golf academies has seen him experience and understand there is more than one way to hit a golf ball.
The past 9 years Matt has lived in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) custom fitting golf clubs for Titleist through Vietnam Golf Distribution (VGD) and training kids' development programs with U.S. kids golf equipment through Dynamic Sports Vietnam.
Coming back to hometown roots on The Bellarine, Matt has completed the 2024 Mizuno Golf Product Learning Path and the Mizuno Performance Fitting System Certification.
Combining expertise, experience and the best technology for Golf teaching via Trackman 4, Matt will show you how to practice and what to practice to guarantee you to play your best for your body type, strength and flexibility.
Matt is available for private lessons Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday
